Concept of the Third Lviv IT Forum
Lviv, 22 October 2008
Challenges and possibilities (context)
The previous IT Forums (IT Solutions for Competitive SMEs in 2007 and Advanced IT Solutions and Competitiveness of SMEs in CEE in 2006) clearly demonstrated the high level of interest of small and medium business in top-quality products, solutions, services and consulting, offered by IT industry today.
At the same time, those events also detected a number of problems, which prevent the effective growth of the market of IT services and products for SMEs and at the same time present an unused potential for such growth:
- Relatively low awareness and understanding by the business environment of positive aspects of automation of manufacturing and non-manufacturing processes;
- Absence of practical skills and experience of work with professional software support programs, need to increase the ability to assess various software solutions;
- Unsolved problems as regards the elaboration of and adherence to uniform game rules, low pace of transformation to "electronic society";
- Necessity to create communities and social networks, first of all in the IT sphere, etc.
Focus
- Target audience – representatives of small and medium business, interested in the advanced IT solutions.
- Topics:
- Basic – automation of all enterprise processes.
Additional – Internet solutions, on-line commerce.
Aims of the Forum
- To present to the business the experience of successful problem solution by means of involvement and implementation of progressive and effective IT solutions by the national and foreign companies;
- To promote the deepening of participants’ knowledge as regards e-commerce and advantages of qualified support of the used software products and solutions;
- To promote the intensification of cooperation between small and medium business and IT industry – presentation of the community “IT for Enterprises” (working title).
